Getting to Know Ashley

With over 8 years of clinical experience and as a Navy veteran, I have honed my expertise in trauma-informed care as a trauma therapist. Prior to embarking on my private practice journey, I dedicated 6 years of my career to working with veterans, their spouses, and families at the Department of Veteran Affairs. During this time, I acquired several certifications in trauma-informed care, including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Strengths at Home for Intimate Partner Violence, and more. Throughout my journey, I have become a subject matter expert in trauma, catering to both veteran and non-veteran care. My previous experiences in inpatient and outpatient settings at UT Southwestern and non-profit organizations have further refined my clinical skills and allowed me to offer exceptional service to individuals aged 18 to 65 and beyond.

Embarking on the journey to seek therapy may feel intimidating, but rest assured, you've taken a significant and courageous first step. I extend my sincere invitation to create a secure space for your healing. Our sessions will involve employing a range of evidence-based techniques, guiding you towards renewal and transformation. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to collaborate with you on this path of growth and well-being.

What you can expect in therapy:

Embarking on the journey of therapy may feel overwhelming at first, but fret not, it's completely normal. Beginning with the initial sessions (1-2), our primary focus will be the establishment of a strong connection by meeting you exactly where you are. Creating a safe space for healing, we'll dive into understanding your unique needs, identifying goals, and crafting solutions tailored specifically for you.

Moreover, to cultivate a fulfilling experience, each subsequent session will center around renewal. We'll shed light on maladaptive or harmful patterns, exploring their negative effects, while simultaneously nurturing the development of new behaviors and healthier patterns. By delving into the depths of any underlying trauma, we'll pave the way for healing to unfold.

Once progress is made, we'll reassess your goals to ensure they've been met, and discuss the next steps in your ongoing journey towards sustained healing.

Remember, taking the first step is often the hardest, but it leads to a path of profound growth and transformation.
